The First-Generation Mentor Pilot Program connects current UC Davis undergraduates with UC Davis graduate students and staff through the shared experience of being a first-generation college student.
Our goal is to provide first-generation students the knowledge, confidence, and tools to grow their network and advance in their research and career endeavors. Through graduate mentorships, students gain confidence and practical knowledge to pursue graduate degrees. Through staff mentorship, students will gain professional development and career direction while fostering a relationship with a person who can be a mentor and role model.
In Fall 2021, we are focused on grad student mentorships. We hope to launch staff mentorships in Spring 2022.
